Here's what I found on the web about the accident at the Martinrea plat located at Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Emergency officials are confirming a man died Thursday evening as the result of an accident at the Martinrea manufacturing facility. Christian County Deputy Coroner Mike Stokes says Jason Sholar of Crofton died Thursday night at Jennie Stuart Medical Center after he was extricated from under a welding robot that manufactures automotive parts, assemblies and modules.
Emergency and rescue crews were called to the scene shortly after 7:00pm. Firefighters and EMTs attempted to fly Sholar from the scene, but due to his condition he was driven by ambulance. Sholar is the nephew of West Kentucky Workforce Development Business Liason and Rotarian Tom Sholar. He leaves behind a wife and children. (www.wkdzradio.com)
A man died after being trapped under a robotic welder at a local factory last night.
The incident happened around 7:15 at Martinrea on Frank Yost Lane. The initial call came out as a man trapped under a welding robot and it took crews several minutes to get the victim out from under the equipment.
An Air Evac helicopter landed near Martinrea and waited, but responders took the victim to Jennie Stuart Medical Center while performing CPR on the way. The Kentucky New Era reports the man identified as Jason Sholar died at the hospital around 10:20 last night. (www.lite987whop.com)
